Marly Jeane is making moves with her brand Lvndr Beautique
Twitter is one of my favorite social media platforms. It’s a free for all of flowing thoughts, opinions, insults, drama, information and more. The Black beauty community on Twitter is small but talented AF so when I stumbled upon Marly Jeane a.K.a @lvndrbeauty I was shook to say the least. What differentiates Marly from other artists is her ability to create versatile looks that ALWAYS work cohesively with lavender or purple. Being that purple is my favorite color I was automatically drawn to Marly’s work.
Marly Jeane is an incredible multi-talented Black trans artist that specializes in makeup, wig making, and press on nail design. She has a youtube channel where she discusses makeup and her personal experiences being a trans-Black woman. In my cis straight opinion, Marly is an inspiration to any budding entrepreneur but especially trans woman. Being trans obviously comes with a lot of bull shit, and being Black and trans comes with even more bull shit. So it’s quite inspiring to see someone who has faced a lot of personal struggle and adversity climb their way to success in a world that has pretty much had the cards stacked against them. But through all the trials and tribulations that come with being Black and trans, Marly creates amazing looks and has managed to develop a budding brand to be on the lookout for.
Lvndr Beautique, Marley’s beauty brand, was an outlet that snowballed into a brand, “I wanted a safe space to be unapologetically trans without being judged for it.” Marly says. Her passion for beauty and dislike for working for others is what drove her to start Lvndr Beautique which launches this Juneteenth with a collection of mink 3D eyelashes, press on nails, and custom wigs. While @lvndrbeautique is still in the beginning stages of developing her brand it’s definitely something to look out for and support! Marly’s advice to any looking to start their own brand is to “focus on perfecting your craft, and the people will come!”
