We’re Not Mad at Monique Samuels From RHOP, We’re Just… Disappointed Cause Denial Ain’t Just a River
After watching the latest episode of the Real Housewives of Potomac I found myself puzzled at the negative energy my Twitter feed had for Ms. Candiace Dillard Bassett. And to be quite frank, I question the sanity of many people that watched the show and were excusing Monique’s egregious behavior. The general vibe I gathered from the individuals siding with Monique Samuels is: Candiace is bratty and deserved to get “dragged”, which, in my opinion, is bull shit.
In the episode entitled “Sorry Not Sorry” we see the ladies gather at Mrs. Karen Huuuuuuugers home to discuss the debacle between Monique and Candace at the wine tasting. To make an unnecessarily long episode short Monique felt ZERO remorse, Karen just wants everybody to get along, the green-eyed bandits weren’t with the $hits, Wendy was the only real voice of reason, and Ashley is a dumbass.
While the green-eyed bandits made valid points as to why Monique was in the wrong their moral compasses were overshadowed by Gezelle’s bodyguard theatrics and non-sensical claims that she, her man, and his congregation sister wives have an image to uphold. But thank God for MSNBC’s “Let’s Face Reality” correspondent Wendy to really break it down to a sis. While I don’t 100% agree with the whole “the white people are staring” narrative, cause they don’t wash their legs, Wendy brought everything to a close when questioning Monique’s lack of remorse for running after Candiace and screaming “I’m going to kill that bitch.” She was acting like Candiace made a dingo eat her baby. Either she’s going through it or there’s more to the story because what we’re seeing just isn’t adding up.
Now, like the famous Drita D’avanzo from Mob Wives once said “ Fighting isn’t the answer, but sometimes it is.” But, in the case of Candiace and Monique, fighting REALLY wasn’t the answer. As a matter of fact, why were they fighting anyway? Because from where I’m sitting Candiace NEVER did anything for that tussle to go down the way it did. PERIOD.
Monique never discussed any issues she had with Candiace but had ample opportunity to do so. My theory is Monique is stressed out and overwhelmed at home and Candiace was an easy target for her to take her aggression out on. Gizelle and Ashley have equally made some really out of pocket comments about Monique that warranted more words than they initially received.
It’s crazy how everybody forgot that Ashley called Monique a flat out drunk after that car accident or when Gizelle tried to get smart and called Monique homeless –– when they first met each other. At the end of the day, the women have said far worse things to Monique. And for her to put her hands on someone who she at one point called a sister, over an invitation, is absurd, classless, and just pathetic.
In my opinion, I think some people don’t like seeing a privileged dark skin Black girl with confidence and tv. Can she be immature? Sure. But everybody on the cast is annoying, its a reality tv show.
I was a Monique Samuels fan… Until she pulled this non-communicative immature bull shit on Candace. Loyalty and logic mean everything to us B.A.P.’s and we are very disappointed in Monique.
